          Acerca de Henry James

          Henry James nació en 1843 en Nueva York y murió en Londres en 1916. Está considerado como uno de los escritores más importantes de la literatura anglosajona contemporánea. Aunque se crió en los Estados Unidos, pasó la mayor parte de su vida en el Reino Unido; el contraste entre ambos países fue una de las constantes de su obra. Su original uso del punto de vista, el monólogo interior y el estilo indirecto libre le convirtieron en una de las figuras más importantes del realismo literario del siglo XIX. Aunque destacó sobre todo como narrador, su vasta obra literaria también incluye artículos y libros autobiográficos, biografías, crítica literaria y teatro. Entre sus libros más populares destacan las novelas Washington Square (1880), Retrato de una dama(1886), Los embajadores (1903), La copa dorada (1904) y la nouvelle La vuelta del torno (1898).
