Mack Reynolds (1917-1983) Dallas McCord ('Mack') Reynolds was born in California in 1917. His father was the Socialist Labor Party Presidential Candidate on two occasions, and Reynolds' life and work were deeply affected by his political upbringing. After early careers in newspapers and computing, Reynolds returned from the Second World War and began to write science fiction. Based in Mexico but travelling widely in his role as Travel Editor for a men's magazine, he started slowly but surely to sell his work. Mack Reynolds wrote the first Star Trek novel, Mission to Horatius, and was once voted Most popular SF Author by the readers of Galaxy Science Fiction magazine. He died in 1983.
Richard Wilson is Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Rutgers University. An honors graduate of Princeton University where he earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees, Richard is the author of numerous books and articles. Before beginning his career in academia, he worked on Wall Street and served as an Intelligence officer in the U.S. Navy.
James Blish (geboren 1921) studierte zunächst Mikrobiologie und arbeitete für ein Pharmaunternehmen, bevor er sich hauptberuflich dem Schreiben widmete. Er gehörte dem berühmten Club „The Futurians“ an, in dem unter anderem auch Isaac Asimov, Frederik Pohl, Damon Knight und Cyril M. Kornbluth Mitglieder waren. In den 1950ern feierte Blish herausragende Erfolge mit seinen Romanen um die „Fliegenden Städte“, die als Prototypen der Space Opera gelten. Für „Der Gewissenfall“ erhielt Blish 1959 den Hugo Gernsback Award. Blish starb im Juli 1975.
Frank M. Robinson (1926-2014) is the author of the classic thrillers, The Power, filmed in 1968, and The Glass Tower, which was one of the sources for the Irwin Allen blockbuster film The Towering Inferno. A U.S. Navy veteran of both WWII and the Korean War, he earned degrees in physics and journalism. He worked at a number of magazines, including Science Digest, Rogue, Cavalier and Playboy before becoming a freelance writer. He is the author of many novels and stories, a noted collector of pulp magazines, and was the executor of the estate of Harvey Milk. His novel The Dark Beyond the Stars won the Lambda Award.
