          Sinopsis
Lady Sue, the orphaned daughter of Royalist parents, is put in the care of Sir Marmaduke de Chavasse, a Cromwell supporter, until she comes of age to take control of her considerable inheritance. Wooed by half the nobility of the neighbourhood, including the humble Richard Lambert, Lady Sue is captured by a mysterious French prince Amédéd'Orléans, who has fled France with a price on his head, who is relentlessly courting her. Although her guardian and Richard Lambert suspect him, Sue falls into the temptation of loving the man of her dreams. Sue's widow Aunt Amelia is caught up in the web of conspiracy from another side when she discovers the true identity of the French prince. Thus begins a plot of disgrace and isolation to secure Lady Sue's fortune, through murder, a secret marriage, disgrace, entrapment and kidnapping.
          Acerca de Baroness Orczy

Baroness Orczy (1865–1947) was a Hungarian-born British author, best known for her Scarlet Pimpernel novels. Her Teahouse Detective, who features in Unravelled Knots, was one of the first fictional sleuths created in response to the Sherlock Holmes stories' huge success. Initially serialised in magazines, the stories in this collection were first published in book form in 1908 and have since been adapted for radio, television and film. Two other collections of Teahouse Detective mysteries are available from Pushkin Vertigo.
