- Acerca de Jane Austen
Nació el 16 de diciembre de 1775 en la parroquia de Steventon, Basingstoke. Recibió su educación y formación en su casa. Fue la séptima de los ocho hijos del pastor anglicano de Steventon,George y de Cassandra Austen. En 1801, la familia se traslada a Bath, Southampton, Chawton y Winchester. Se inició en la escritua siendo una niña. Algunos de sus primeros trabajos se editaron en el libro Amor y amistad, y otras obras (1922). Tras su muerte se publicaron varias novelas incompletas. Falleció en Winchester el 18 de julio de 1817.
